Founded in 2007, Woori Marketplace (formerly Woori Mart) has become the go-to destination in New Jersey for the freshest and most delicious Korean and Asian groceries.

The word “Woori” in Korean carries a similar meaning to “we” or “our” in English, expressing a sense of closeness and togetherness. Staying true to this spirit, Woori Marketplace is committed to delivering trusted, high-quality foods that bring people closer.

Our story began in 1948 in Songnim-dong, Incheon, Korea, where the first-generation founder started a family business wholesaling flour and sugar. After the Korean War, the business grew into Iljin Sanghoe in Ahyeon-dong, Mapo, Seoul, supporting the community’s health and quality of life through essential food supplies. The second generation brought this passion to the U.S., settling in Bergen County, New Jersey, and running Jang’s Market, which played a vital role in supplying nostalgic Korean foods to early Korean immigrants.

With the opening of Woori Mart in Northvale, we’ve expanded to offer a wide range of premium Korean foods and fresh ingredients every day — plus, we’re constantly updating our selection to include exciting flavors from across Asia.
