1. Start with fresh produce
Our produce section is restocked daily with the vegetables and fruits Korean recipes depend on: napa cabbage and Korean radish for kimchi, perilla leaves, Korean chili peppers, enoki and king oyster mushrooms, Asian pears and seasonal Korean fruit. Tip: come in the morning for the widest selection, and ask our staff which items just arrived.
2. Visit the meat and seafood counters
The butcher counter carries Korean-style cuts you will not find at a regular supermarket, including thin-sliced bulgogi beef, LA-style kalbi short ribs, samgyeopsal pork belly and marinated meats ready for the grill. At the seafood department in the center-back of the store you will find live lobster, flounder and abalone in our tanks, sashimi-grade salmon and tuna, and Korean salted fish. Cleaning, filleting and sashimi slicing are complimentary, so tell us how you plan to cook it.
3. Grab banchan and kimchi
Our deli section makes Korean side dishes (banchan) in-house every day: several kinds of kimchi, seasoned spinach and bean sprouts, braised potatoes, pickled radish, japchae and more. Buying a few banchan is the fastest way to turn a bowl of rice into a full Korean meal.
4. Stock your pantry
The grocery aisles hold everything for Korean cooking at home: gochujang and doenjang pastes, soy sauce, sesame oil, roasted seaweed, instant rice, and dozens of ramyun from Nongshim, Samyang, Ottogi and Paldo. Most of these pantry items are also in our online store, so you can reorder your favorites without a trip.
5. Eat at the food court
Hungry while you shop? The food court serves Korean fried chicken, bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastry), tteokbokki rice cakes, pho, jajangmyeon and more. It is a local favorite for a quick lunch or a weekend treat with the family. We also prepare fruit and veggie platters to order for parties and holidays.
